Hi I’m Elizabeth,
I am a 21 year old college student at Elon University. I am a senior majoring in Computer Information Systems. Along with studying, making time for a social life, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle I have a passion for cooking.
My love for food stems from my family. My parents are both great cooks and they have taught me so much about cooking and enjoying food. I never really gained an interest for cooking until two years ago when I made a New Years Resolution to be healthier. Campus food had caught up to my waistline and I wanted to create healthy food. Since then I have been cooking non stop!
This year I am increasing the resolution up a notch to create the “Slim-Fat Project”. I want to show people that it is entirely possible to live a healthy lifestyle and save money at the same time. Check out “The Slim-Fat Project” to view my posts.
Along with cooking, I have other hobbies such as painting, knitting, drawing, and various other crafts. A healthy lifestyle is all about balance. It is about enjoying the things you love while working hard. My hobbies are what keep me content and enjoying life.
As with any healthy lifestyle fitness is very important. Although it is not my favorite part of the day, I try to exercise on a regular basis. I have recently added yoga into my regimen and I am so glad I did! In conjunction with yoga I love to run. I have signed up to run my first half marathon in April of 2012. I am a little scared about running 13 miles but I am determined to make it happen. Hiking is probably my favorite form of exercise but unfortunately there are not too many mountains around here so I do not hike too often.
In the winter of 2011 I studied abroad in Florence, Italy where I learned so much about Italian art, culture, and cuisine. The Italians have the important things in life figured out. They take their time to enjoy good food with good company. Dinners lasted 3 hours and great conversation with great friends were a result. I would love to save a little bit of that Italian culture in America to continue living “La Bella Dolce Vita” (the beautiful sweet life).
La Bella Dolce Vita shows a little taste of my life.
